“Prime Minister’s Security Personnel Stripped of Powers as Clash with National Security Service Escalates”

The powers of the employee performing security duties for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have been revoked, as announced by the internal affairs of the Republic of Armenia. This decision was made by the Head of the RA Government. On May 27, there was a clash between the security forces of the National Security Service and the Prime Minister’s security personnel in the capital. As a result, a trilateral agreement was reached regarding internal security and counter-terrorism operations, leading to the revocation of the security employee’s powers. Earlier reports stated that security personnel, acting on orders from the NSS, attempted to forcefully remove Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from the SHDM building.
