“Deputy Prime Minister Ishkhan Saghatelyan Faces Complaint Over Involvement in Political Trial: Public Council Takes Action”

The ‘Hraparak’ newspaper reports that the Public Council of the Republic of Armenia, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishkhan Saghatelyan, has filed a complaint against Judge Vachik Saghatelyan. The complaint is in relation to the judge’s involvement in a political trial. In response, Ishkhan Saghatelyan defended the legitimacy of the political trial, stating that it is a routine procedure for holding politicians accountable. He believes that those trying to tarnish his reputation by blaming him for the actions of his family members will eventually understand their futile attempts.

While he did not provide specific details about the case, it should be noted that the two brothers of Saghatelyan, Nairi and Gurgen, were also interrogated for their political activities. They were accused of disrupting public order during protests against the change of the rector of Yerevan State University. The case has now been taken to court. Additionally, it was reported that Saghatelyan’s niece, who served as the director of Sevan College, was dismissed from her position by the decision of the college’s rector. This decision is believed to be related to her family’s connection with Saghatelyan.

More detailed information will be published in tomorrow’s newspaper. Stay tuned for updates from Armenia.
