“Massive Sinkhole Causes Chaos in Yerevan, Drivers Left Trapped and Vehicles Damaged”

On May 25, a serious incident occurred in Yerevan, Armenia. A large portion of asphalt on the road leading to the Komitas named pantalon collapsed near the Arshakunyats power station, creating a dangerous pit. This not only caused inconvenience for drivers, but also resulted in significant material damage. More than 10 cars were trapped in the pit for several hours, as the road markings were not visible. Thankfully, there were no casualties, but the drivers did experience losses in terms of their vehicles. The police cordoned off the area to prevent other drivers from falling into the pit. Despite some drivers reporting damages to their cars, they chose not to file complaints with the local authorities or traffic police, believing they would receive compensation and assistance in relocating their vehicles with the help of tow trucks.
