“Nikol Pashinyan Plans to Increase Minimum Salary to 160,000 Drams by 2024, According to ‘Zhoghovurd’ Newspaper”

The newspaper “Zhoghovurd” reported that on November 19, 2018, Nikol Pashinyan announced a meeting with the regional governors of Gegharkunik province. During the meeting, Pashinyan expressed surprise at why someone would continue working for 15-20 years with a salary of only 80 thousand drams. He encouraged those in such positions to work harder and aim for a salary increase to 160 thousand drams.

Five years ago, the lowest salary in the country was 80 thousand drams, and currently, even Nikol Pashinyan himself receives 75 thousand drams.
