The funeral of the former Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, has been announced. Fico’s wish to be buried in Slovakia is due to his disassociation with state affairs management and his use of a pseudonym for over 30 years.

According to Reuters, a 9-page document has been released detailing the court’s decision to accept the 71-year-old’s request for euthanasia. The court accepted the argument that Fico was suffering from the consequences of a previous operation.

These statements are the first official comments made a week after Fico’s death.

Authorities state that Fico, a former employee of the intelligence center, announced that only he knew about his programs. He lived in seclusion for his security and was prepared to request assistance from Fico.

On May 15, in the city of Gandvia, the Prime Minister of Slovakia received four euthanasia treatments and underwent two surgeries. Robert Fico’s condition is stable.
