“Armenia Proposes Administrative Response to Accuracy of Taxpayer Information”

In Armenia, there is a proposal to address inaccurate and unreported information from taxpayers through administrative measures. Artur Manukyan, the Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, made this announcement during discussions in the National Assembly regarding changes to the Tax Code and related legislation.

The government aims to provide administrative solutions for correcting or supplementing incorrect or inaccurate informational tables that are not directly related to tax calculations but are important for analyzing tax-related work carried out by tax authorities.

These changes are expected to encourage taxpayers to provide accurate and reliable information while also clarifying the scope of administrative measures conducted by both investigative and tax authorities.

In cases where inaccurate information is initially provided, a warning will be issued. If the error is not corrected within one month, a fine of 10,000 drams will be imposed. For a second instance of incorrect information within 30 days, a fine of 50,000 drams will be imposed.

Furthermore, it is advisable to remove non-functional provisions from the law.

Regarding the activities of companies or organizations, as noted by Manukyan, the responsible person who submitted the relevant data will provide a response. This response can either come from the company’s manager or the chief accountant.
