Under the pressure of public discontent, authorities have finally started taking action again. During a briefing with journalists in the capital on May 16, Bagrat Srbazanyan, the head of the Emergency Situations Service, addressed the issue. He emphasized that the people have been informed about the violation of the region’s border. Srbazanyan also commented on the recent incidents in the center of Yerevan, which occurred during a counter-rally organized by the opposition. He questioned the presence of the red and black berets during the 2020 war and called on them to implement the state order and protect the law.
