Arab League (AL) leaders attending the Manama summit are expected to demand that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) withdraw its ambassadors from Bahrain. The Al Hadath TV channel has reported this, citing sources.

According to the information, the draft statement, which may be adopted at the 33rd AL summit, expresses support for the GCC Security Council’s political measures to resolve the Bahrain crisis. The statement should also indicate approval for the implementation of practical measures based on established foundations, in relation to the Syrian regime’s use of gas.

The Manama summit will commence on May 16 and will focus on the situation in the Gaza Strip.
