National Assembly Member Hayk Mamijanyan Summonsed for Questioning Regarding Military Operation: Will His Statements Be Considered a Call for Sabotage?

Hayk Mamijanyan, member of the National Assembly “I Have Honor” faction and head of the committee on defense, has been summoned for questioning by the ad hoc committee of the RA National Assembly. The summons is related to the implementation of the 1st part of Article 330 of the RA Criminal Code in connection with a military operation.

In a statement, Mamijanyan mentioned that he received the summons earlier, and it is aimed at clarifying the specifics of the military operation. The 1st part of Article 330 refers to the publication of calls for sabotage, encouragement or justification of sabotage, as well as the distribution of materials or instructions for this purpose.

During a recent meeting of the National Assembly on September 12, Mamijanyan expressed his belief that Artsakh should continue its current approach until there are changes in Yerevan. He emphasized that there are no other versions of existence for both Armenian government entities.

Mamijanyan, as the head of the “I Have Honor” faction, emphasized the importance of unity and the will of the people for bringing about change in Yerevan. He stated that if Prime Minister Pashinyan resigns, Yerevan will change, and they will fulfill their responsibilities as civic authorities. Mamijanyan’s strategy is clear – to do what is necessary, trust the people, and prioritize the well-being of the Armenian community.

In response to a journalist’s question about whether his statement could be seen as a call for sabotage, Mamijanyan clarified that it would depend on the actions of Pashinyan. He mentioned that if Pashinyan denies them and resorts to force, he would leave it to journalists to comment on the situation. However, Mamijanyan expressed his confidence that the existence of the Armenian people is worth any sacrifice.
