“Foreign Ministers of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Iceland Strengthen Support for Armenia Amid Controversial ‘Foreign Agents’ Bill”

Foreign ministers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Iceland, namely Baiba Braže, Gabrielius Landsbergis, Margus Tsahnkna, and Tordis Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadottir, are currently in Armenia as part of their official visits to the South Caucasus countries. Estonia’s Foreign Minister, Margus Tsahnkna, shared a photo on social media featuring himself with his three fellow ministers, expressing gratitude for the support of friends during difficult times. On May 15, the visiting ministers will hold a meeting with Armenian President Armen Sargsyan, where they will subsequently issue a joint statement. It is worth noting that, despite opposition protests and international criticism, the controversial “foreign agents” bill was approved by the Armenian parliament on May 14, with some amendments easing certain conditions of the bill.
