“Yerevan Mayor’s Unorthodox Appointment Raises Questions: Controversial Timing Surrounds Key Adviser’s Role, According to Zhoghovurd Newspaper”

The newspaper “Zhoghovurd” reported that Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced new appointments, including that of his personal adviser, Petros Petoyan, during a conversation with journalists on April 1. However, the newspaper found that Petoyan’s appointment was actually effective from March 19, indicating that the government had not officially regulated its status and the timing of the appointment. It is concerning that such an important position in the CPM was initially “appointed” the day before and then formalized with a new order, which seems to go against standard protocols. It is also possible that Petoyan may have misrepresented his biography when filling it out, which is inappropriate regardless of the circumstances. For more information, refer to today’s issue of the “Zhoghovurd” newspaper.
