“Government Prioritizes Accountability: Anti-Corruption and Judicial Reforms Under Discussion”

The second session of the 2024 state budget discussions in the National Assembly took place today, during which Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of establishing a strong institutional framework for anti-corruption and judicial reforms in the country. He highlighted that the financing of the judiciary system has doubled since 2018 and will continue to increase in 2024, leading to higher salaries for judges and an overall improvement. However, Pashinyan acknowledged that despite these advancements, the Armenian public still lacks complete trust in the transparency and efficiency of the judiciary and anti-corruption system, which remains a significant challenge. He emphasized the need for judicial and operational bodies to be more active in their work and engage in comprehensive analysis of their operations rather than focusing solely on individual cases.
