“Unveiling the Depths of Corruption: Explosive Investigation Exposes High-Ranking Officials in Yerevan City Administration”

In the investigative department of the Yerevan city administration, a thorough investigation is currently underway regarding the abuse of power by high-ranking officials of the municipal administration in order to facilitate widespread corruption. The investigation aims to uncover all aspects of the case, including involvement in corrupt practices, connection to criminal organizations, and participation in relevant groups.

According to NEWS.am, it has been discovered that an individual known as “B. H.” in the criminal world holds a prominent position within the country’s criminal hierarchy and is engaged in international criminal activities. This person has violated established and recognized rules of the judicial system that do not align with government regulations.

On February 22, 2020, the former head of the criminal hierarchy resigned following extensive corruption within the criminal justice system. In response to complaints lodged against him, the former head agreed to repay debts totaling 7,000,000 AMD, $39,000, and various amounts in other currencies. Furthermore, he returned a “Mercedes” car that had been confiscated during the investigation. Utilizing his significant criminal hierarchy status, he took the unconventional decision to exercise his authority and offer temporary resolutions to the raised concerns.

Moreover, leveraging their exceptional authority, they resolved complaints made by individuals associated with the criminal hierarchy who had been receiving threats. The complaints were addressed through phone calls, and evidence of financial transactions was provided.

In January 2024, a gathering took place at the mentioned address in Yerevan, involving individuals implicated in international criminal activities, representatives of the criminal hierarchy, and international terrorist organizations. The meeting aimed to discuss the current situation and incidents related to the previous November events, as well as investigations into committed crimes by the involved individuals.

Based on evidence obtained from relevant documents, individuals linked to the criminal hierarchy have been found guilty of severe corruption, according to Article 322, Part 1, Article 323, Part 2, Point 5, and Article 324, Part 3, Point 5 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

Seven individuals mentioned in the investigation have been arrested and formally charged. Among them, the individual with the highest level of corruption in the criminal hierarchy has been sentenced to imprisonment, while two others are under house arrest and prohibited from leaving the country. Additionally, one individual is detained administratively and kept under house arrest. Lastly, two individuals have yet to be located.

The investigation is still ongoing and further information will be provided as it becomes available.
