Armenia has announced that it will not participate in financing the activities of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The decision was made by the Armenian Ministry of Defense, according to spokesperson Anna Badalyan. On November 23, 2023, Armenia did not attend a meeting to determine the allocation of funds for the organization’s activities. This comes after a previous announcement on February 23, stating that Armenia did not implement the Collective Security Treaty despite being a member of the CSTO. Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan has indicated that Armenia may withdraw from the treaty if the CSTO does not address the country’s concerns regarding its own territory within Armenia. In response, the CSTO has stated that it considers the entire issue to be related to Armenia’s territory.
