“MTS Armenia Granted 100% Market Share by National Commission for Regulating Public Services”

“MTS Armenia” has been granted 100% of the market share for telecommunications services by the National Commission for Regulating Public Services, according to Lianna Azizyan, the spokesperson for the Public Services Regulatory Commission. The decision was announced at a recent commission meeting.

Previously, there were reports that “MTS Armenia” CJSC would be sold to “Fidelco Group Limited,” a company based in Cyprus. However, MTS Armenia CJSC submitted an application to the Commission on November 3, stating that Fidelco Group Limited intends to acquire 100% of the shares of “Aramayov Investment Limited” from Fidelco Group Limited, which is registered in Cyprus.

It is important to note that in April 2023, the National Security Service of Armenia intervened and prevented the acquisition of “Fidelco Group Limited” by MTS Armenia CJSC. This transaction raised concerns for the National Commission for Regulating Public Services as it could potentially harm the state interests and national security of Armenia.

This development in the telecommunications sector marks a significant move for “MTS Armenia” and will undoubtedly have far-reaching consequences. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
