A powerful explosion has occurred in the basement of the Lichtenfeld gallery, located in the city center. According to a report on RBB television’s website, residents living in nearby neighborhoods have been advised to close their windows, turn off their ventilation systems, and refrain from going out onto the street. RBB has stated that there were “chemicals” present in one of the storage rooms, which could potentially endanger the local population. The explosion is believed to have affected an area of approximately 2,000 square meters, according to Tagesspiegel. It has been reported by B.Z. that the explosion originated in the premises of Diehl Metal Applications, specifically in a technical room. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries so far. However, emergency services are currently unable to access the area due to heavy smoke.
