US Secretary of Defense Urges NATO Allies to Boost Support for Patriot Missile Defense Systems in Ukraine’s Defense Against Russian Aggression

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has called on NATO allies to increase their support in supplying Patriot missile defense systems to Ukraine. The Ukrainian government aims to protect its cities and infrastructure from Russian aggression. This appeal was made by Austin during a meeting of Ambassadors to NATO at the Pentagon, as reported by “The Voice of America.” He mentioned that there are countries that already possess Patriot systems and that the United States is actively cooperating with these nations. In the past two weeks, Austin has personally communicated with several heads of state, urging them to provide additional assistance. Although he did not specify the countries he approached, it is known that Spain, Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and Sweden possess Patriot missile defense systems.
