“Pending Recognition: Government of Armenia Yet to Acknowledge Republic of Artsakh, Says Spokesperson Arman Rustamyan”

The recognition of the Republic of Artsakh by the Government of Armenia is still pending, according to Arman Rustamyan, the spokesperson for the “Armenia” faction. He made this statement during a discussion on April 29.

Rustamyan emphasized that Armenia’s recognition of the independence of Artsakh would enhance the region’s security as Azerbaijan views Artsakh as an aggressor. This is evident through Azerbaijan’s military actions against the villages of Syunik and Armenian military positions near Basra, as well as their provocative behavior.

Rustamyan also highlighted ongoing activities related to the situation in Syunik and the operations of the Armenian Armed Forces in two other locations within Armenian territory, which he finds concerning.

He questioned whether the nation can protect its identity and stressed the need for society to recognize the importance of this. Rustamyan expressed worries about external threats from Turkey and Azerbaijan and suggested that the Armenian authorities are not adequately responding to these dangers. He raised the issue of endless concessions, calling on society to consider if Turkey and Azerbaijan should have such influence and if they support this.

In order to preserve the truth, Rustamyan believes it is crucial for Armenian society to assert its historical existence.
