“Mayor Suren Petrosyan Emphasizes People’s Leadership and Rejects Personal Ambitions in Decision Making Process”

There are no issues with leadership in this process. There have been no discussions or controversies regarding leadership because the success of this process is a result of everyone’s efforts. The people are the only leaders in this process, not any external or internal forces. In a meeting with journalists on April 29th, Mayor Suren Petrosyan stated, “Our biggest problem is that we seek leadership through personal ambitions or impose it on ourselves. However, in this process, this is not a problem because no individual can become a leader without the will of the people.”

Furthermore, another mistake we make is trying to assign responsibility to individuals and allowing them to determine the course of action themselves. We all know what this process entails. We cannot force individuals to take on decision-making responsibilities. It is up to them to choose, and their actions will determine their role and obligations. The process cannot assign responsibilities to individuals or processes,” the mayor added.

Regarding the decrease in the number of journalists participating in recent meetings, Suren Petrosyan pointed out that the initial publication may have emphasized sensitivity or aimed to create such publications. However, the process is gaining more momentum and wider participation through public programs. The number of people attending meetings in Yerevan does not define the field, as the mayor believes that it varies throughout the republic due to different conditions and circumstances. People’s participation in actions and events differs accordingly.

Speaking about the meeting between the citizens of Karin and Nikol Pashinyan, the mayor stated that he does not have information about the participants but is confident that there will be no altercations or disagreements during the process.
