Minister of Education Champions Collaboration and Innovation at National Conference on Education and State Development

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, Zara Andreyasian, recently attended the “Role of Education in State Development” conference at Masis Primary School No. 5. This inaugural conference brought together 700 teachers from all regions of Armenia, who presented 611 reports on various educational topics. Minister Andreyasian emphasized the importance of promoting collaboration and sharing best practices among teachers from different schools. The conference, which will continue with two more parts focused on preschool education and inclusive education, aims to provide practical implementations and new opportunities for cooperation in the field of education.

In her address, Minister Andreyasian highlighted the significance of setting standards for teacher professional development through research and the development of educational and pedagogical activities. She believes that this will enhance the quality of education and provide teachers with the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills based on current innovations. The conference will also address inclusive education and classroom management issues, with a focus on practical implementation and the provision of necessary resources and tools for teachers in special education.

Minister Andreyasian stressed that the conference aims not only to provide theoretical knowledge but also to facilitate practical cooperation between teachers, researchers, and educational tool developers. The standards for teacher professional development have been defined through research and expert opinions, and conferences like these offer teachers the chance to share their experiences and challenges with innovative methods and approaches. Based on the success of these conferences, new educational opportunities will be organized, providing teachers with up to 50% fee incentives to improve their knowledge and skills.

After the conference, Minister Andreyasian visited Masis Primary School No. 5, where renovation and reconstruction works are underway, including the construction of a science laboratory and a sports hall. The commitment to improving education in Armenia is evident through initiatives like this conference and the investment in school infrastructure.
