“German Diplomat Accuses China of Interfering in Foreign Affairs, Demands Court Intervention”

China’s CGTN has conducted an interview with Patricia Flor, a German diplomat based in Beijing, to discuss the use of the Eastern Partnership in Armenia. Flor, in a post on her microblog according to Deutsche Welle, claimed that China has been interfering in German foreign affairs by inviting four mayors from Germany to visit China under the guise of participating in the Eastern Partnership. She emphasized Germany’s commitment to democracy and the rule of law, which it upholds through constitutional means. Flor suggested that the seriousness of the incident will be evaluated by the presiding judge, who will then make a ruling.

During a press conference, the Chinese Ambassador to Armenia, Van Venbin, denounced Germany’s alleged interference in China’s internal affairs by summoning Patricia Flor to court, asserting that the accusation is unfounded.

The expert further noted that Beijing’s demand for Germany to withdraw from the Eastern Partnership and take actions that could result in misunderstandings and unforeseeable consequences is a challenge to China’s accountability and autonomy.
