“A Clash of Stories: Internal Affairs Investigates Alleged Use of Flash Grenades by Police in Kajaran Community”

Internal Affairs is expressing concern about the use of flash grenades by the police during clashes between residents and authorities in the Kajaran community of the Tavush province. During a briefing with “Armenpress,” the spokesperson for the RA Police, Narek Sargsyan, stated that the police did not use flash grenades or any other special means in Kajaran. However, earlier, a resident of Kajaran informed NEWS.am that the police did use flash grenades during the clashes, resulting in several residents sustaining physical injuries, although no hospitalizations were reported. Additionally, there are reports of a civilian being beaten by a police officer.

According to the spokesperson for the RA Police, Narek Sargsyan, there is no truth to the claim that flash grenades were used by the police in Kajaran. The police maintain that they did not use any special means during the clashes with residents. However, a resident of Kajaran has contradicted this statement and reported that the police did, in fact, use flash grenades during the clashes. Several residents were injured, but thankfully, no one required hospitalization. In addition to the use of flash grenades, there are allegations of a civilian being physically assaulted by a police officer during the clashes.
