On April 22, 2022, at 20:19, the national emergency center received a report of an earthquake near the village of Hrazdan, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Yerevan Rescue and Firefighters Department.

According to the Armenian Rescue Service, the epicenter of the earthquake was found to be three kilometers away from the capital city of Yerevan.

The earthquake occurred at 21:20 and lasted until 22:05. It had a magnitude of 5.4 and a depth of 22.5 kilometers. Three aftershocks were recorded.
