The main court announced on December 6, 2023 that an international criminal investigation is being conducted in the Ararat province involving one of the leaders of the SP companies. These companies operate in various territories in the Syunik-Nogha community without permission to use the land, thereby violating the state’s environmental regulations. NEWS.am reports this information from the main court.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the Director of the Company violated the requirements set by the Republic of Armenia from September 10 to December 5, 2023. Without the right to use the territory and using special technology, he illegally occupied an area with a total volume of 3000 sq m, damaging 1220 sq m of land.

Consequently, on April 19, 2024, the government and the community were ordered to pay a total compensation of 13,736,000 drams to the Company.

The investigation is still ongoing.
