“Recorded Cases and Fines Mark a Steep Rise in Environmental Preservation Efforts in March 2024”

The preservation and protection of the environment and nature have been intensified through the work done in March 2024, according to NEWS.am. The Ministry of Emergency Situations and Territory Management reported a total of 157 cases recorded in accordance with the implemented measures and regulations defined by the Republic of Armenia. These actions also included other activities specified by the law.

In the field of public safety, 68 cases were recorded. Additionally, a total of 74 calculations were made in the area concerned with the preservation of the biological world, amounting to AMD 38,091,496. Fourteen administrative fines were imposed, seven warnings were issued, and 700,000 AMD in administrative fines were recorded.

In terms of animal protection, four cases were recorded and two calculations were made in the area concerned with the protection of a specific region, amounting to AMD 26,000. Four administrative fines were imposed, four warnings were issued, and 140,000 AMD in administrative fines were recorded. Forty-nine administrative fines were also shortened.

Thirty cases were recorded in the field of air and water conservation, waste management, and preservation of forests. Three calculations were made in the area concerned with the protection of a particular region, amounting to AMD 18,891,395. Twenty-seven administrative fines were imposed, 24 warnings were issued, and 750,000 AMD in administrative fines were recorded. Three administrative fines were shortened.

There was one case recorded in the area of territory conservation, resulting in one administrative fine being imposed.

Measurement works were carried out, including three for the restoration of soil, landslide protection, and the protection of the basalt rock massif and the basalt rock massif adjacent to the Apovitin mine. No violations or delayed calculations occurred within the defined time frame. Fifteen administrative fines were imposed and 22 warnings were issued, resulting in 900,000 AMD in administrative fines being recorded. Four administrative fines were shortened.

The head of the State Environmental Inspectorate issued 33 inspection orders, resulting in a total of 20 calculations in a specific region, amounting to AMD 24,249,220. Thirty-eight warnings were issued, with 7,850,000 AMD in administrative fines being recorded. One administrative fine was shortened.

Thirteen environmental subjects had their activities suspended, including 12 without permits for water use and one without a permit to use materials for waste disposal. Eleven mandatory execution orders were issued, with five related to the use and disposal of hazardous substances and waste production facilities. Three were related to the use and preservation of water resources, two were related to the use and preservation of forests, and one was related to the preservation of atmospheric air.

The Ministry of Nature Protection sent 32 work assignments, totaling AMD 15,386,202, for the deposit of guarantees. The state budget of the Republic of Armenia received AMD 20,467,982.
