“Azerbaijan Advances Closer to Kirants and Voskepar Villages, Raises Concerns About Border Security”

According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Azerbaijan has moved closer to the villages of Kirants and Voskepar, which are located near the ceasefire line. This move came as a result of the demarcation process, but it has also divided the villages and artificially demarcated the state border. The statement acknowledges that this is an unfair act and assures that the defenders of the state borders of the Republic of Armenia will take necessary steps to ensure protection. The statement also mentions that Azerbaijan gains control over four villages, while Armenia gains border security and a reduction in security risks associated with demarcation.

This event marks the first time that Armenia has a demarcated border with Azerbaijan. This is seen as an important step, as Armenia will now have a functioning actual border and will work towards establishing and implementing it through a political and legal process. This will ensure necessary guarantees for the safety, socio-economic, and legal rights of the population.
