In the capital of Turkey, discussions on political and diplomatic issues were held between Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, and John Bass, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. The main questions regarding the upcoming visit of the US Ambassador to Turkey were addressed during the meeting. Furthermore, the discussions also covered the improvement of relations between the US and Turkey, as well as cooperation in the energy sector. In addition, Bass held a meeting with Ibrahim Kalin, the Turkish President’s chief advisor on foreign affairs and national security, which was attended by Jeffrey Hovenier, the US Ambassador to Ankara.
