In the territory of Nrnadzor in Syunik province, an unstable situation arose when a fire broke out in a border guard’s car, as reported by Ara Azizyan. He explained that the incident occurred near their village, and he happened to be present when it happened. One soldier was left at the scene with an injured leg, and despite being urged to seek medical attention, he insisted on staying to assist his comrades. Finally, they persuaded him to go to the hospital, and the injured soldier was transported there in the car.

Ara Azizyan added that there were already an older man and cooks present at the site. Later, NEWS.am reported that four houses belonging to border guards had caught fire in Meghri. The casualties and injured included both contractual and mandatory military personnel, with a total of 20 individuals affected. One of the casualties was in critical condition.

It is worth noting that NEWS.am previously reported that the “Ural” vehicle, which was being used to transport the border guards relocated by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, had not yet been recovered. The vehicle had veered off the road and ended up in a densely populated area.

The Ministry of Defense has released a statement stating that, according to preliminary data, there have been four casualties and injuries as a result of the fire. However, the exact numbers are still being verified and updated.
