“Former Prime Minister Accused of Endangering National Security, Independence: Explosive Revelations Surface”

I address Vazgen Sargsyan’s father, Aram Sargsyan, former Prime Minister Sos Sargsyan, and several national security officers. Nikol Pashinyan insulted Vazgen Sargsyan yesterday, accusing him of planning a coup against the Armenian people. From 1996 to 1998, Vazgen Sargsyan held a crucial position in Armenia’s internal and external security system. During the Armenian Revolutionary Federation “Dashnaktsutyun” session on April 11, Gegham Manukyan, the party’s representative, responded to Nikol Pashinyan’s statement. He stated that our national government will be re-established in September 2022 alongside an understandable war outbreak. We have come to realize that our beloved leader, during 1996-98, was dragging us through a “minefield” with his hands tied behind his back, endangering our national security and independence.

Gegham Manukyan explains that the government was supposed to execute an action plan to improve the administrative, professional, and disciplinary system of the army, as well as make changes in the mobilization timeframe and structure, among others. However, these plans remained on paper, and the 25-day military exercises did not take place.

He raises concerns about the changes that were promised before the elections, such as extending the military term from one to two years, but were ultimately abandoned. In the face of the Azerbaijani war, our soldiers were sacrificed, and there has been no news regarding this issue. Currently, in Tavush, during the demarcation process, when the 3rd enemy corps attacks, the 2nd army responds by allowing the 3rd corps because they fear a large-scale war. This means that the entire Armed Forces are locked up.

Gegham Manukyan also shares that the demarcation process involved 5,800 soldiers, but there is no information on how many have already crossed. However, they claim that the salaries of the servicemen have been raised, ranging from 205,000 to 470,000 drams. Only 2,573 out of 5,359 participants in the demarcation received a positive result, while 2,786 received a negative one. Similarly, only 3 out of 155 participants in the “Fatherland Defender” program received positive results, and 155 servicemen received negative ones.

Gegham Manukyan questions the government’s promises and states that changes in the government’s structure will take place in 2023. When the Minister of Defense affirmed this, he suddenly stopped and admitted that he couldn’t accomplish the mission.

He concludes by expressing the hardships faced by the high command of the Armenian Armed Forces. He mentions an incident where Andranik Kocharyan told Davit Tonoyan something, and then Tonoyan betrayed him with poisoned blades.
