“Armenian CBC Television Uncovers Truth about Armenian Cultural Heritage in Artsakh: Debunking Azerbaijani Claims”

Armenian CBC Television’s report titled “Ancient Agdam. Unprecedented Cultural Heritage” discusses the restoration of Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh. The report emphasizes the importance of scientific research in understanding and preserving cultural heritage.

Previously, research on agricultural and settlement activities in Artsakh during the Bronze and Iron Ages has attempted to connect the region with “Adurbijanic” territories. However, this connection is largely based on uninformed assumptions, as there is no scientific evidence to support it.

Another issue highlighted in the report is the presentation of stone anthropomorphic statues from the 8th-6th centuries BC. Azerbaijani researchers have tried to “Azerify” Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh, including these statues. However, our research has shown that these statues have no direct connection to Zoroastrian religious activities or Armenian culture.

In addition, some of these statues have been relocated in recent years, while others remain in their original locations. Azerbaijani researchers can verify this by visiting museums in the occupied territories.

The academic sector advises Azerbaijani researchers to be more cautious in their scientific research and focus on studies that document migration routes, rather than relying solely on urban announcements.
