“Prime Minister Pashinyan Addresses Historical Borders and Security Concerns in Annual Public Discussion”

The simplest explanation for this form of education is what we have achieved together, what we have, and where we are. Today, on April 10th, during the 2023 annual public discussion of the government’s program, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized this in his speech:

“The answer to this simple but complex question became clear to me when, at the end of the discussion in Parliament, there was a question and answer session that revealed important thoughts for me. These documents, which have been discussed since 2021, in this digital age, not only for the eyes of the public but also for the political and non-political spheres, have become more transparent through proper evaluation and prioritization.

One of them can be called the historical future of Armenia, while the other is the real present of Armenia. The government and I have studied one of these specific tasks in-depth, which are constantly being debated in diverse forms, both domestically and internationally. In these texts, two representations emerge – the national and military dimensions, reflecting our security concerns and the full spectrum of our national, political, non-political, and military capabilities, which create the same challenges for each other,” said Pashinyan, attempting to explain why.

“Being a historian and political, urban, and economic transformation, which has been an integral part of our eyes for a long time, in 2022 we ratified that Armenia’s security guarantees, as well as the foundation of our state, have been established since the early years. This principle is recognized by the international community, and this territory is internationally recognized. From the perspective of securing Armenia’s security and the security between Armenia and Azerbaijan, this process is much more complex than our border delimitation process,” added Pashinyan, noting that the historical borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan are internationally recognized.

“The process of real and historical reconciliation between Armenia and Azerbaijan is much more difficult because it not only understands the comprehensive existence of the Republic of Armenia but also the internationally recognized delimitation of its territorial integrity. Therefore, the historical borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan have become a visible issue in each individual’s inner perception and cause incredible layers of disappointment. Accordingly, the historical Armenia recognizes or feels that its entire territory, uniting the capital, is the action of limiting the established limits of Armenia’s internationally recognized territorial boundaries. In this stage, the historical Armenia or even the vicinity of a number of countries, in which there are assumptions, disagreements, and disputes based on the perception of their territories as historical Armenia, are internationally recognized by the same actions of limiting the established limits of their territories. This is the entire international topic that binds us,” announced Nikol Pashinyan.
