“Landmark Ruling: School Shooters Jennifer and James Crumbly Sentenced to 10-15 Years in Prison”

The district court of Oklahoma has made history in the United States by handing down a sentence for the perpetrators of a school shooting. Jennifer and James Crumbly have been sentenced to 10-15 years in prison for the devastating massacre that occurred at Itan Crumbly-Detroit Elementary School in November 2021. The trial concluded in December 2023 with a guilty verdict, as the shooters violated the right to be protected from release before the designated deadline. Recently, the bodies of their victims were discovered, suggesting negligence on the part of the school administration for failing to provide adequate security. Additionally, students at Crumbly-Detroit Elementary School were not involved in extracurricular activities and were held partially responsible for the tragic events due to offensive behavior towards their peers, contributing to their isolation.

On the day of the tragedy, the school staff warned students about Itan’s anger issues and described him as a dangerous anomaly with exceptional mathematical abilities. These warning signs were symbolized by drawings of a weapon and a mask. The Crumblys contacted the school, requesting their child be removed from the class and sent to a psychiatrist, but their plea was denied due to their heavy workload. It was not until two hours later that students informed their teachers about Itan’s escalating mental state resulting from excessive studying, upon which he attacked his classmates with a weapon and opened fire. Both shooters have faced separate prosecutions, with Jennifer Crumbly being found guilty in early February on four counts of unauthorized mass murder related to her son. James Crumbly received a similar decision in March.
