“Yerevan Municipality Takes Bold Step Towards Architectural Integration of Advertising”

“Pakht” newspaper reports that the Yerevan municipality’s advertising committee has established new criteria for the placement of advertisements. Beginning on January 1, 2024, advertisers who use billboard advertising will need to adhere to these criteria. The goal is to make advertising and the medium of advertising an integral part of Yerevan’s architecture and its surrounding areas.

Recently, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan held a meeting in the Central Administrative District, during which he had a productive discussion with representatives from the advertising industry. However, it has come to light that the Central Administrative District has only been able to attract 20 percent of its external advertising to comply with the new standards. This indicates that the majority of advertisers have not made the necessary changes for various reasons.

To address this issue, Mayor Avinyan has implemented a strict policy to enforce the requirements of public order. The aim is to encourage all advertisers whose external advertisements do not meet the new standards to comply with the regulations.
