“Gyumri Market Takes a Stand Against Expired Meat: Vendors Banned From Selling Spoiled Products”

Recently, a new regulation has been implemented in Gyumri’s market, prohibiting vendors from selling expired meat. This restriction is not limited to just the market but applies to the entire Shirak province. Levon Barseghyan, the head of the “Asparez” club, brought attention to this development on his Facebook page.

Barseghyan expressed concern over the possibility of vendors attempting to sell their spoiled and expired meat in other regions outside of Shirak province. He questioned whether any guidance or advice can be provided by the public authorities to address this issue. In order to deter such practices, penalties for transporting, selling, and obtaining expired products have been established.

The severity of these penalties varies depending on factors such as the quantity of products involved and the distance from the vendor’s place of residence. Ranging from 60 to 200 percent, these penalties aim to discourage the concealment of spoiled products. By enforcing these standards, the government hopes to eliminate the sale of expired goods in the future.

This news highlights the efforts being made in Armenia to ensure consumer safety and prevent the sale of expired products. The government’s stance on this issue sends a clear message to vendors that such practices will not be tolerated.</p
