“Parliament to Discuss Deafening Issues: Government’s Program in Focus, High-profile Figures to Attend Session”

Zhoghovurd newspaper reported that the issue of becoming deaf will be discussed during the April 9th sitting of the Parliament. As a result, next week, the Parliament will receive a report on the progress and outcomes of the government’s 2023 program. Nikol Pashinyan, along with the ministers, will be required to present the report in Parliament. Next week, several prominent individuals will also visit the Parliament including Chief Justice Anna Vardapetyan, Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan, President of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Hakobyan, and President of the Constitutional Court Vahagn Hovakimyan.

The upcoming Parliament session will also cover various annual reports, such as the activities of television and radio broadcasting for 2023, the Judicial Department of Armenia’s report for the same year, and the Central Election Commission of Armenia’s report on the 2022-2023 electoral process. Additionally, discussions will focus on the state of protection of human rights and freedoms in Armenia for the past year, as well as the activities of the Defender of Human Rights within the national mechanism for the prevention of torture for 2023.

On April 9th, following the decision of the Standing Committee, the newspaper “Hayastan” will organize a public gathering on the topic of “Challenges of Independence and Border Security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh.” It should be noted that David Khachatryan, who is an invited expert, will not be able to attend the event. Interestingly, he happens to be the brother of Sasun Khachatryan, the Former Head of the Anti-corruption Committee.
