“Journalist Beaten After Editorial Mistake: Sargis Galstyan’s Sudden Move from Artsakh Sparks Controversy and Disappointment Among Residents”

The “Hraparak” newspaper recently reported that Sargis Galstyan, who chose to stay in Stepanakert after the occupation of Artsakh, was assaulted upon his return to Armenia with his wife. This incident was a result of an editorial mistake. However, the question remains as to why Galstyan decided to leave Artsakh only seven months after its liberation and relocate to Armenia with his wife without informing the authorities. It was reported that Galstyan initially requested to stay in Artsakh while working remotely, but he consistently expressed hope that the displaced residents of Artsakh would eventually return with the assistance of Russia. In this scenario, he believed he would have a certain status in Artsakh and could play a role. However, after seven months, it became clear that the situation would not change, leading him to make the decision to relocate. In recent months, the children living in the former residence of President Bako Sahakyan in Artsakh, who have strong family ties with Galstyan and his wife, have encountered difficulties in communicating with their relatives. They reached out a month ago, explaining that there were internet connection problems in Stepanakert. Nevertheless, it came as a surprise to the freedom fighters when they learned that Galstyan had left the border and settled in Armenia. Consequently, there are representatives of the dissatisfied and disappointed Artsakh residents in the region.
