“Pro-Kurdish Candidate Declared Winner in Turkey’s Political Showdown: Appeals Filed Against Election Board Decision”

The political standoff in Turkey has come to an end with the announcement of the election results. Official data reveals that the candidate from the pro-Kurdish Democratic People’s Party (HDP) has been declared the mayor, securing a majority of 55 percent of the votes. This result has prevailed over the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) candidate, who mustered only 27 percent of the votes.

In a report by Turkish Gazeteduvar, Abdullah Zeydan, the elected member of HDP, has made an appeal to the Court of Appeals regarding the decision of the elections board. Zeydan argues that he has been unfairly denied the right to hold office despite his electoral victory and registration as a legitimate candidate. Furthermore, he emphasizes that the Central Electoral Committee failed to address any potential issues that could have impacted his participation.

Zeydan makes it known that he has been actively fighting alongside the people on a day-to-day basis in order to defend their rights. Through his actions, he aims to ensure that the voices of the people are heard and protected.
