Hayk Marutyan Launches “New Power” Party, Reveals Members Ahead of Local Elections

The newspaper “Zhoghovurd” has reported that the former mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, has established a new political party called “New Power.” The party is scheduled to have its official launch on May 1st.

Hayk Marutyan had previously announced his intention to continue with political activities after stepping down as mayor a few months ago. He expressed his desire to form a new party and participate in the upcoming local elections.

The members of Hayk Marutyan’s party, called “National Progress,” have also been revealed. The party includes individuals such as Aram Torosyan, Hovsep Kubatyan, Grigor Yeritsyan, Kristina Vardanyan, and others.

Contrary to previous speculations, Isabella Abgaryan will not be part of the “New Power” party, according to the newspaper.

In an interview, Hayk Marutyan stated that he will fully support his team members but will not personally engage in any political activities at the moment. He expressed his preference to focus on the work and challenges of his team and the city.

During interviews with Hayk Marutyan’s team members, it was not revealed whether they will collaborate with “National Progress” in the future. However, it was noted that there may be instances where they cooperate in the form of a front, similar to their participation in recent elections.
