“Concerts and Controversies: Georg Gevorgyan’s Move to Yerevan Sparks Demand for Change”

Georg Gevorgyan, a renowned musician, used to hold concerts in Goris. However, he has recently relocated to Yerevan. Unfortunately, one of the concert attendees had an accident on their way back to Yerevan, and we had to transfer them to the “Astghik” Medical Center, where they underwent two surgeries. Thankfully, their condition is now stable. We reached out to Jalal Harutyunyan to request that the case be transferred to Yerevan, but our plea was rejected. The situation is quite challenging as the road is long and the participants are not in the best health. Additionally, they are also busy with their work. It would be ideal if the concerts could be held in Yerevan so that everyone could actively participate and be part of the event.

During an interview with NEWS.am on March 29, Kristine Azatyan, the mother of David Azatyan, a civilian who lost his life in the “April War” of 2020, expressed her thoughts. She highlighted that the parents of fallen soldiers from Artsakh are facing similar difficulties. Despite losing their sons while fighting for Armenia, they are now struggling to make a living in Goris. Financially and personally, their situation is challenging. On October 12, 2020, the parents of the fallen soldiers shared details of the incident, revealing that there was an order from higher authorities not to intervene and let the soldiers proceed. They were told that they would be protected, but unfortunately, that was not the reality. The soldiers were surrounded on all sides, and when they were let go, they were tragically killed. The parents shared that Jalal Harutyunyan has had several meetings and acknowledged his own mistake. However, it is crucial to quickly and accurately identify and punish those responsible on the ground. The parents emphasized that these young, defenseless soldiers, aged between 18 and 20, fought until their last bullet, but sadly, no one has been held accountable. They believe that these 18-year-old soldiers should have been properly assigned their positions and provided with adequate protection within their units on the battlefield. It is distressing to know that everyone died, and their remains were discovered only after 1 year and 3 months. The soldiers’ remains were eventually handed over to Azerbaijan. According to Kristine Azatyan, Georg Gevorgyan has been in the third phase of his legal journey for three years, with the final phase yet to be reached. They are fighting for justice but can only rely on the divine court for now.
