Government Extends Financial Assistance for Artsakh Displaced Families in 40+10 Program until December

The government has announced that it will provide financial assistance to the beneficiaries of the 40+10 program who were displaced from Artsakh on March 28. This assistance will be extended for an additional 9 months, covering housing and other expenses until December 2024.

Narek Mkrtchyan, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, stated that the assistance will be available to all members of the displaced families, including minors. He highlighted the expansion of the program to include families who have been settled since 2020, with a total number of nearly 6,000 individuals. The assistance will also cover newly born and unborn children in the displaced families.

Mkrtchyan clarified that the housing provided through the 40+10 program is not considered state-sponsored housing in Armenia. It falls under the rights granted by the Artsakh 40+10 program to residents of the autonomous regions.

The program also allows for a change in the application submission time frames, with the possibility of including up to 350 beneficiaries in these programs, as well as other programs, if pending applications related to the displaced are successfully verified by the migration service.

Starting from April 15, applications will be accepted, and those who have previously applied to the 40+10 program will not need to reapply. The implementation of the previous program will be evaluated, and the appropriateness of continuing the program will be assessed at the end of its validity.
