“Tragic Incident in Kotayk: Child Suffers Severe Burns After Falling Into Water”

An emergency situation occurred in the Kotayk province on March 23. The Department of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in Kotayk received a notification from the National Center for Forensic Medicine and Medical Expertise of the “Burn Center and Dermatology National Center”. They reported that a child had fallen into water from a building in Bjureghavan city and suffered thermal scald injuries on the face, neck, chest, and extremities. The injuries were classified as first, second, and third-degree burns, affecting 55 percent of the child’s body surface. The emergency response team from Bjureghavan quickly provided medical assistance to the child, who is currently in critical but stable condition.

Due to the situation, the Department of Internal Affairs in Kotayk prepared documents, which have been handed over to the Investigative Committee’s Kotayk regional subdivision. An investigator has ordered a forensic examination to determine the circumstances surrounding the case.
