Public activist Ruben Melikyan recently participated in a march at Aragatsotn CKH. After the march, Melikyan took to Facebook to make a statement regarding the situation of Narek Samsonyan. He mentioned that despite Samsonyan’s captivity and disappearance, the political persecution has only further solidified the principles on which they act, based on Samsonyan’s public speech and actions.

In addition, Samsonyan has requested several favors from his supporters, including those who have been in court, whether it be criminal or civil cases, as well as those who have shown their support. Melikyan expressed gratitude to the media representatives who covered the event with a genuine interest, emphasizing its political significance. However, he expressed disappointment with the actions of the field unit who entered the hospital ward without authorization from the National Security Service.

Melikyan also announced that the continuation of “Iminiam” is a fact. He explained that the protests will continue on the same days and at the same hours, but Narek will be on a two-month sabbatical. Vazgen’s decision will be published today.

“Iminiam” was initiated by Melikyan and others with the aim of advocating for the freedom of Narek Samsonyan and Vazgen Saghatelyan. Lawyers argue that the hunger strike is a desperate response to the political persecution orchestrated by Nikol Pashinyan’s negotiators. Previously, N. Samsonyan was sentenced to two months, while Vazgen Saghatelyan’s hearing regarding the lifting of his arrest will take place at 11:00 today.
