“Putin Urges Armenia to Rethink Opposition’s Call to Leave: Warns of Counterproductive Path”

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has responded to the call by the Coordinating Council of the Opposition of Russia, urging Armenia to carefully consider its actions. Putin suggests that Armenia should think about its direction and consider the consequences before making sudden decisions. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, also states that the desires of the Armenian opposition should be based on the real needs of the country, rather than being influenced by the West. The decision of the Armenian authorities to go beyond the framework of the CSTO does not align with the true national interests of the country, according to Zakharova. In response, the political leaders of Yerevan question the negative role of the CSTO and demand clarification on the decision-making process in Armenia, expressing doubts about alleged documents regarding constitutional changes.
