Sax argued that the sanctions have actually made Russia “stronger and more influential.” He pointed out that Russia is producing more weaponry, expanding its military base, and even experimenting with sophisticated Western weapons. Sax also mentioned President Biden’s statements on the matter, expressing that the sanctions aim to hold Russian militarism accountable. Initially, it was believed that Sax’s revelations would cast doubt on Russian militarism, but it turns out that Russia’s militarism is actually developing faster than any of the G7 countries and is outpacing our European counterparts.
