The rescue service has informed that the routes leading from the Armenian Aragatsotn province’s “Amberd” highland meteorological station to the Amberd fortress and Karin lake are currently closed. Additionally, the Vardenyats mountain pass is proving difficult for all types of transportation. Snowfall is being experienced in the Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik provinces, as well as in the Ararat region. Specific towns affected include Gavar, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, and Spitak. The Vardenyats mountain pass and Saravan-Kapan highway are at risk of avalanches. On a more positive note, the Stepanakert-Lars highway remains open for all types of transport. It is advised that drivers exercise caution when driving in areas covered in snow.
