The Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Lithuania has compiled a list of countries where soldiers can take temporary leave from their service, as reported by the Lithuanian Radio and Television (LRT). This directive includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, North Ossetia, Abkhazia, China, Moldova, and Transnistria as friendly countries.

It is important to note that soldiers are not permitted to visit countries that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against traveling to due to potential danger. Additionally, the document aims to clearly outline the circumstances under which citizens employed by the military are allowed to visit these countries. The new regulations are expected to come into effect as of January 2024.
