Armenian Prime Minister Calls for No Confidence Vote, Urges Commitment to Revolution and Accountability

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has called on the National Assembly to register a motion of no confidence, citing the government’s failure to fulfill its responsibilities. The document was submitted to the National Assembly on Tuesday and will be referred to the relevant committees for consideration.

“This is not a political game, but a statement of upholding principles, continuing the revolution, promoting political fairness, and showing respect for citizens,” said Pashinyan in a statement issued several hours prior to filing the motion.

In Bulgaria, the Prime Minister, who currently holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union, facilitated a meeting between the leaders of two major parliamentary groups. The meeting resulted in an agreement that Denkova and Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel would switch positions in a month, with Denkova assuming the roles of Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.

Furthermore, two parliamentary groups, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and the “Rights and Freedoms Movement” (MRF), expressed the need for Denkova to assume the position on June 6, 2023. The countdown for this transition is set to begin on March 6, 2024.
