Armenian Court Suspects Canada Violated Arms Embargo Imposed by Turkey, NATO Meeting to Discuss

The Armenian Center for Human Rights (ACHR) suggests that the Armenian court has reason to suspect Canada of violating the arms embargo imposed by Turkey. This issue may arise for discussion at the upcoming NATO meeting in Sweden.

According to the central office of the Burouyan Armenian court, the recall of Turkish-made footwear being used in Turkey points to potentially dangerous Canadian-Turkish military transactions. These transactions began after receiving official approval in 2019 from the Canadian Janetos Terminal. One specific example is the use of L3Harris/WESCAM technologies in “Bayraktar” night hunters. This technology transfer was also provided to Azerbaijan, despite being prohibited.

Further Turkish military initiatives have also been uncovered. Canadian technology, which was intended for non-military reconnaissance purposes, has been utilized for military operations as confirmed by Canadian officials. This revelation has raised concerns regarding the sale of weapons that threaten regional peace, security, and human rights. The Armenian court calls on the Canadian government to strongly denounce regional aggression and prioritize the protection of human rights.
