According to “Spark” newspaper, lawyer Karen Tumanyan has been nominated by the “Campaign for High Judicial Council Membership” for a vacant position. This nomination follows the resignation of ARA Davoyan, who had been appointed by the Prime Minister a year ago, despite his affiliation with a controversial legal company. There were even claims of political connections. However, Davoyan has assured that Tumanyan will be independent in this role.

The “Campaign” has also highlighted the fact that Davoyan was appointed by the Third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, and potentially influenced by Vladimir Vardanyan, a well-known figure in legal circles at the PPA. It is worth noting that Karen Tumanyan has been an expert with the “Association of Open Society Foundations” since 2002, an organization established by the Soros Foundation.
