An alarming incident took place in Yerevan on January 16. At 09:50, the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia discovered an explosive device in the central offices of the 9-11 Rescue and Firefighting Organization and the National Center for Disaster Management. According to Shamshyan.com, a civilian entered the “Victory” checkpoint and detonated the explosive, causing damage. The Yerevan police department and the Crisis Intervention Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations swiftly handled the situation. The 7th police department of Yerevan and the crisis group of the 1-03 Emergency Assistance Center also responded promptly to the incident. The perpetrator of the attempted sabotage has been identified as 36-year-old A. Khachatryan, as reported by News from Armenia – NEWS.am.
